Finca Reiquehue is located in the heart of the Uco Valley, one of the world's most prestigious wine regions, on the iconic Route 40 in San Carlos, Mendoza. This area is not only synonymous with breathtaking landscapes and unspoiled nature, but also with the ideal terroir for producing high-quality wines, especially Malbec, Argentina's flagship grape variety.

Uco Valley

The Uco Valley produces some of the most elegant, intense, and long-lived Malbecs in the world.

Altitude and climate

Located 1,000 meters above sea level, we enjoy sunny days and cool nights, with a marked temperature range. This daily oscillation between high and low temperatures allows for slow and balanced ripening of the grapes, favoring a greater concentration of aromas, flavors, and polyphenols, which are fundamental to the structure and complexity of the wine.

Soils

The valley soils are poor in organic matter, stony, and have excellent drainage. This composition forces the vines to develop deep roots in search of water and nutrients, resulting in more concentrated and expressive grapes. Each plot has unique characteristics, allowing wines with their own identity and an authentic expression of the terroir to be produced.

Risks

Pure meltwater from the Andes Mountains feeds the vineyards through a controlled irrigation system. This vital and balanced resource is key to the health of the plants and the quality of the fruit.

Relief and sun exposure

The natural slope of the land and the north-south orientation of the vineyard ensure excellent sun exposure, essential for the development of healthy, ripe grapes with thick skins rich in anthocyanins and tannins, which are responsible for the color and characteristic identity of our wine.
